And I only choose to play Gwenneth (or Amber) when the card choices are really good, too! Grumble.

Shadow Era Meltdown 87: Ter Adun vs. Amber Rain - Amber TAKEDOWN!
Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: March 25, 2015 Version: 2.89 WEDNESDAY WIN After playing four games against this one player who always only used a weapons-based hero (usually Gwenneth), we were 2-for-2, which is pretty impressive for me. But after that, I decided to take a chance and play Ter Adun, knowing full well that I had no other offense if I ended up matching with any other player. I had no Lone Wolf, no Infinity Core, barely any allies. All I had were cards to destroy items. What happened was one of the most glorious games I've ever played. I can't imagine a more tech-ed out victory against Amber Rain. I literally took almost every offensive strategy they had and flipped it around on them (thanks to Morphic Armor and Procured and Restored).

Anyway, Scrying Eye is great against weapon-based heroes because you can see if/when they're about to draw a weapon card, and you can shuffle it out before they do. The funny thing is, in this instance, I never saw Amber about to draw a What Big Teeth, which is of course the point of choosing Amber in a Meltdown game.

New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: March 16, 2015 Version: 2.89 COMMENTARY MONDAY Yikes, sorry for that squeaky voice audio glitch again, it's caused by my microphone recording at 44.1 kHz by default when Quicktime needs 48. The good news I finally figured out how to cut and splice clips directly from Quicktime, which was good because there was about 10 minutes of waiting to get matched with a player. Speaking of waiting, is this the quickest game we've ever done a live commentary on? That's good since I'm generally vulnerable to weapon-based heroes.

Shadow Era Meltdown 73: Praxix vs. Banebow - Friday Fail!
Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: March 2, 2015 Version: 2.89 FRIDAY FAIL This is the continuing saga of my Praxix journey. As you can see, it still hasn't gone well. I'm basically just taking all the cards I can get and hoping to outlast the opponent and get lucky, and I'm winning maybe 40% of the time based on that.

I was able to dispatch them pretty quickly and they never really overwhelmed me. Good thing too, cause the Lone Wolf was like the last card I drew.

Still learning on using SF cards strategically, mostly just using allies as filler right now. Once again, this win is attributed to generous card draw.

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: March 10, 2015 Version: 2.89 FRIDAY FAIL As a Miller, I really want to be able to play Praxix more often, but in meltdown it's just too easy to not get the other cards you need to really make him effective. Someday I'll win with him!
Shadow Era Meltdown 69: Boris Skullcrusher vs. Gwenneth Truesight - Wednesday Win!
Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: February 28, 2015 Version: 2.89 WEDNESDAY WIN You guys know Gwenneth is one of my weaknesses (or any other weapon-based heroes), so winning this one, especially as Boris, who isn't one of my preferred heroes, is especially sweet. I don't know why Gwenneth switched to Ghostmaker instead of using her Lily Rosecult sooner to bring back Soul Seeker; with her Speedstrike she could've slowly eroded my health without ever losing her bow. Still, when you don't have any other weapon destroyers, Snow Sapphire (the freezing armor) is one of your best defenses against a weapon-wielding hero.

New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: March 6, 2015 Version: 2.89 COMMENTARY MONDAY Sorry for the lack of deckbuilding phase here, I finally figured out what was causing my audio glitches from the last videos, and paused the recording to get it fixed, and then promptly lost the earlier part. Anyway, super weird game on this one. This was an Infinity Core deck and instead I won with an Io Void Leviathan, who was just a monster ally here.

Shadow Era Meltdown 66: Eladwen Frostmire vs. Moonstalker - Wednesday Win!!
Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: February 15, 2015 Version: 2.89 WEDNESDAY WIN Listen, I clearly love a good mill game, so I have respect for others who do the same in Meltdown. That said, Millstalker in Meltdown is an accident waiting to happen; you don't have an abundance of Lone Wolf and stall/control cards at your disposal. Meanwhile you also don't have any offensive cards. What won me this game was Infinity Core (of course) and Scrying Eye, with which I saw that he had a Lone Wolf (that's what I kept shuffling his deck for) and a What Big Teeth. Eventually I couldn't stop him from drawing those cards, but by then it was really too late. I've played a lot of Millstalkers in Meltdown recently and I've lost to few of them. p.s. - just for the sheer curiosity I had for a guy who played this FORTY FIVE TURN GAME, I dragged the ending out a little, to see if he'd keep fighting.

New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: February 21, 2015 Version: 2.89 COMMENTARY MONDAY Ugh, the audio issues persist. Sorry about this guys, I'm working on it. Apologies for the skipping and worse, my chipmunk voice. Here's another live commentary game with deck-building portion. Played 1 CotC and 3 DP. Another SUPER close game. I'll say this is karma rewarding me from Friday's awfully close loss.
