Shadow Era Meltdown 39: Majiya vs. Banebow - In It to Mill It!

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 28, 2014 Version: 2.88 WEDNESDAY WIN I was ready to quit this one as soon as he threw down the Stalwart Bodyguard and then the Reinforced Armor, and he would've won easily had he not made the mistake of putting down a second ally. After that it was just a matter of waiting my opponent out. Luckily I had an Eternal Renewal in the end, just in case he did also and the game was going to last longer.

Ter Adun is a bad mismatch against Zaladar, so I lucked out.

Shadow Era Meltdown 37: Zaladar vs. Elementalis - Friday Fail!

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 23, 2014 Version: 2.88 FRIDAY FAIL Elementalis is a tricky card in Meltdown because you're dependent on drawing a good succession of cards (you're a sitting duck in case you don't draw any allies in the beginning), but if you DO, it's easy to assume early board control. As usual, lack of card draw was the big reason for my loss on this one, though they really did have a good early roster of allies that kept me on my toes. I probably would have still lost even if I was drawing cards, it would have just taken longer.

Shadow Era Meltdown 36: Zaladar vs. Banebow - Wednesday Win!

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 21, 2014 Version: 2.88 WEDNESDAY WIN Sorry for the minor screencasting interruptions during the game. Anyway, pretty straightforward win here, as usual the biggest determining factor is the ability to draw cards. I was actually losing for most of the game but having cards in my hand always meant I had short and longterm options. And then once you have Infinity Core you can play even more defensively, allowing you to keep from burning your cards.

Shadow Era Meltdown 35: Victor Heartstriker vs. Gwenneth Truesight - Commentary Monday!

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 16, 2014 Version: 2.88 COMMENTARY MONDAY This is my first ever live commentary, and uh, well, I wish it was a better matchup. Victor being an anti-ally hero doesn't match well against a weapon wielder like Gwenneth.

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 15, 2014 Version: 2.88 FRIDAY FAIL Wow, this game is like playing against a mirror. Well, not quite, cause it didn't end in a tie. I got way too fancy at the end playing with my attachments, when really all I should've done was keep taking off her Lone Wolf. I was still playing the long game even though I was on fire and poisoned, which should've told me to hurry it up. I'm at least glad it was a close-ish game.

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 15, 2014 Version: 2.88 WEDNESDAY WIN Majiya's a decent hero against Elementalis, in that she deals a decent amount of damage, and can hopefully win in a drawing battle. Remember to hoard those anti-ally cards!

It worked this time though!

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 11, 2014 Version: 2.88 FRIDAY FAIL This was a heartbreaking loss, attributed mainly to several key mistakes and, most importantly, the last of card draw. A very intense match.

Shadow Era Meltdown 30: Lance Shadowstalker vs. Serena Thoughtripper - Wednesday Win

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 05, 2014 Version: 2.88 WEDNESDAY WIN My opponent this game is someone I've played MANY times. They're memorable for using the catchphrase of "I SMELL VICTORY" at the start of every game, even though I'm pretty sure at no point have they ever beaten me. So in this instance I decided to see whether or not, once my victory was assured, I could manage to get EVERY ALLY I HAD ON TO THE BOARD (not counting sacrificed). Thank goodness they didn't quit early :) Meanwhile, Lance is quickly becoming one of my preferred heroes in Meltdown. Having haste, stealth, and ambush is a great way to control a board.

Shadow Era Meltdown 29: Lance Shadowstalker vs. Boris Skullcrusher - Commentary Monday!

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 5, 2014 Version: 2.88 COMMENTARY MONDAY Fun come-from-behind game here between Lance Shadowstalker and Boris Skullcrusher. Boris actually taunted me with a "GG GJ" back when he had like 20 health to my 6 or something and then called me "lucky" right before I beat him. Sorry about video quality today, I had recording problems and didn't want to have to start over again. One time incident, I promise!

Shadow Era Meltdown 28: Nishaven vs. Banebow - Friday Fail

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: December 3, 2014 Version: 2.88 FRIDAY FAIL Banebow just had a counter for everything I had going here, destroying my Infinity Core, disabling my allies with Anklebreaker, and then outdrawing me with Blood Frenzy. I MIGHT'VE gotten lucky enough to survive at the end if not for his Full Moon, but even that seemed unlikely.

Shadow Era Meltdown 27: Elemantalis (Me) vs. Zaladar - Infinity Loop

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: November 29, 2014 Version: 2.88 WEDNESDAY WIN Another win in which usually I'd be the one playing Zaladar. I was certain I would be able to outlast him even with his own Infinity Core and his What Big Teeth (and obviously his Shadow Ability), but as soon as he started having more allies than me on the board was when I started getting worried. In that instance I realized the only way I could win was to let him put all his allies on the board so he wouldn't have a way of recycling them and regaining health anymore.

Shadow Era Meltdown 26: Darkclaw (Me) vs. Majiya - Commentary Monday!

Please Subscribe! New Meltdown matches every Monday (Commentary Monday), Wednesday (Wednesday Win), and Friday (Friday Fail) Originally Played: November 21, 2014 Version: 2.88 COMMENTARY MONDAY This commentary was recorded about 15 minutes after the actual game was played. Immediately after I tried recording a live game and my computer froze mid-game. So uh, maybe I'm not gonna do that again... This game was notable in that not only did I come back from a 20-to-1 deficit, I was playing Darkclaw against Majiya, when usually it would be the other way around (especially Majiya with Infinity Core).
